iPhone App Site Trends
Having recently delved into the world of iPhone App with a client at Spring – I read up on what other App Developers are doing with their sites. Web Designer Wall posted a great article on this very subject a couple of weeks ago.
There are some great App site designs out there, that’s for sure, but there does tend to be a trend toward using a similar approach every time (large iPhone, screenshot, funky type, rinse and repeat). The Tweetdeck App does a good job at keeping things simple while also showcasing a lot of Tweetdeck’s features. Others seem to rely on the power of the iPhone as a design classic, and end up with rather weak site designs.
If you are planning to use the Apple App Store badge or iPhone image, don’t forget to read the Identity Guidelines for Developers first. Apple reserves the right to withdraw permission to use the badge or iPhone image if you fail to follow the guidelines.
